
Search the Internet and you’ll find countless links (“About 107,000,000”) describing the different features and functions offered by iOS 5 and Android 4.0 (ICS – Ice Cream Sandwich), the latest versions of the top mobile operating systems. Even your humble blogger highlighted some of the key features of ICS in a post late last year.
In a lot of ways, the two iOS 5 and Android 4.0 are mirror images of each other, with a lot more in common than most people think. And, as they develop, you’ll likely see one OS gain attention with a particularly cool feature that the other OS quickly follows up with to match or surpass the other. Being able to use the camera from the locked position of your device is a good example of this.
Yet with all their similarities, a few major philosophical differences tend to push people firmly into one camp or the other. While you really can’t pick an objective winner, you can decide which of these two great operating systems best fits your personality, based on what you value most in your tablet experience.
